Can anybody tell me the best way to get from Guangzhou in Guangdong Province to Guilin? I'm a single male traveling alone with no English. Thanks. |

There are two ways to get to Guilin from Guangzhou. You have the option of taking a train or a bus.
Train - There is one daily train. K36 departs at 18:31 from Guangzhou main station. Purchasing tickets has become easier for overseas travellers as there is now a foreigner window. There are still a few local people in the queue but you will be served very quickly. Guangzhou train station is a very busy station.
Hard sleepers are great. The price of the ticket varies depending on which bunk you will sleep in. The top bunk is the cheapest whilst the lower bunk is the dearest. Expect to pay between 175 Yuan and 200 Yuan. The train should arrive in Guilin station .
Bus - The bus station is located across the road from the Guangzhuo main railway station. There is a very good Express Sleeper bus departing at 11:00am and arriving into Yangshuo at about 19:00. Tickets cost 140Yuan for the trip. |
