Can I catch up three gorges ? |

Hi, just wondering if anyone has up-to-date news on when the gorges are due to disappear? It's just occured to me that I should probably go and see them this year before they are gone forever. I was also thinking quite a few other people might have the same idea and cruises would be totally booked and not much fun. Has anyone been recently, was it enjoyable? Does anyone know if time really is running out? Is it worthwhile going whilst I still can? Or, should I go to Sri Lanka this year as I've planned? I'm thinking you can only miss something if you actually see it and then it's gone... |

Hello,
The Three Gorges are still worth seeing. My group went there for the first time back in December just befroe christmas and it was much better than he thought it would be. You can still see alot of the gorges. Around June or July they will fill the Yangtze to a hieght of Y156 meters, and then in 2009 it will reach 175meters.
It was good to see now before to much more of it goes under water. Cruising along i was thinking how much more impressive it would have been before they started to dam it. Basically if you like river cruises it is worth doing and you will still see some very impresive scenery.
