travel in China for Chinese New Year |

I'm travelling to Beijing for chinese new year. Are shops and stores open or is everything closed because it's a holiday? Are there any festivals or anything special that goes on during chinese new year? I'm not sure if this is the best time to travel around Beijing. Help please! |

Only those small store run by private will not open due to the boss go to his hometown. Most of the stores open as usual. |
