Travelling on a Shoestring |

I'm just out of school so i'm travelling on a budget. Has anyone gone to China with frugality in mind? Are guesthouses accessible and cheap? Is the food cheap? Is ttransportation cheap???
Any comments would be greatly appreciated! |

Everything here is cheap. In the big cities you can stay in youth hostels for around 50 yuan per night....in small cities you can get your own private room for that price, or twice that if you want it to have a western toilet and heating.
Everywhere you go there are small restaurants. Pick the ones that look reasonably hygenic! If you order fried rice or noodles you will only pay 5 yuan.
You really can see alot on a budget in China.
