12 days tour to Hongkong and China |
|
|
I arrive in HK on 12 Mar and fly out 24 Mar (12 days). I have never been to hong kong and want to spend 2-3 days catching up with a friend and doing some sightseeing. I also want to spend a little bit of time checking out another part of China.
I have 9 days and not sure whether to go:
1. beijing-great wall-xian then back to HK
2. Yang shou/guilin - three gorges then back to HK
3. another area I've not taken into acct.
for 9 days which do you think is the better option? they are both touristy regions so with a guidebook and phrasebook I don't expect things to get too difficult. With regards to transport, will it be difficult to book trains to these places in March? I expect I will probably spend quite a bit of time just getting tickets and travelling but would still like to make the most of things.
thanks for your thoughts |

Vannessa,
Welcome to HK! Re your enquiry, I strongly recommend that you should visit Beijing and Xian if you are not afraid of cold and are interested in history.
I have been to Beijing for few times and it is a historical city and you can see a lot of things (Great Wall is only one of the fifth famous places you should visit) If you are in Bejing or Xian, you will find mountains of Westeners visit there
Yang shou/guilin are fine city with beautiful views, (rivers, lakes, forest, all green and blue things just like New Zealand)
Actually most of the HK people go to mentioned cities by air flight, but still some go there by train as well. I can help you to buy the train ticket to Beijing and Xian (please note that it takes almost one day to Beijing from HK) We can also arrange tour guide to you when you travel in HK and Beijing so that you can know more about these two cities.
Any questions about Cheaper accomodation, transport, food, tour guide in HK, Beijing or any cities, please free feel to send me a mail and I can provide you the detailed information there:

Vanessa,
By the way, sorry to mention one more thing previouly, please note that travelling by train saves money, however it costs a lot of time and probably there will only one-two trains travelling from one city to another city, unlike flight. As a matter of that, in order to see more things, planning is quite important and everything should be scheduled
