Suzhou - day trip or overnight? |

We are planning to visit Suzhou At the beginning of April.
The tour companies offer two options for visiting Suzhou from Shanghai.
1- A day trip by car or coach returning to Shanghai the same day.
2 - A train trip up one day, stay overnight and return the next day.
Both options seem to visit the same sights. Has anyone had experience of either or both?

Suzhou - day trip plus Tongli overnight
Both are feasible. Tell the tour company that you want to stay overnight and then stop in the scenic town of Tongli on the way back to Shanghai the next day. In fact, you should insist on this option!
