I wouldn't want to travel to China by plane, but rather do it overland by coming from Vietnam. My final destination?, possibly Beijing (in order to fly to Tokyo). Any good itineraries that you would like to share with me?. I have also heard that cheap accommodation is hard to come by in Eastern China, is that so?. Any places/dorms to stay that you could recommend?. Is it expensive to travel by train/bus around China?. And, how safe/unsafe is it for a woman travelling alone?. Can't think of anything else to ask just yet, but feel free to pass on any info that comes to mind. The more, the better.

You really should come to see China,for it's so different from other countries already on your trip programme.
You can surely arrive overland from Vietname,then go north.Let me say,if you prepare one week in China,I recommend you to come to Shanghai(1 night),Hangzhou(1 night),Xian(1 or 2 nights),and then to Beijing(3-4 nights).All of these cities have there own Chinese flavours and tastes and are friendly and safe.
