Hi, Vegetarian food is not common in China, especially Urumqi.
I tried ordering vegetarian dumplings with no onion no garlic in a restaurant in Beijing and got given pork dumplings with chives.
In Urumqi go Russian, If you eat eggs they have an egg and tomatoe dish. Otherwise order some hot bread.
I ended up eating corn and fries from KFC. Who would have thought a Vegetarian would eat from KFC.
Beijing has a couple of awesome vegetarian restaurants, one is close by the popular confucious temple. You have to pig out if you find this restaurant because there is only a couple more. Gong de lin Vege house NO 158 Nandajie Qianmen, Beijing and He tang yue se (moonlight in the lotus pond) Chaoyang District Beijing. |
