Focus on Xishungbanna or Yuanyang both are very nice places to visit. It depends of season, in january-march I recommend Yuanyang with the 1 000 mirrors. In april Xishuangbanna with the water splashing festival etc.
Lijiang and Zhongdian you can visit year round.
PS. If you do the trek in TLG, don't miss to continue to Haba Village. DS. |

I wouldnt spend more than 1 day in Dali, there is not much to do.
The area south of Kunming is very nice in terms of nature.
Also worth a visit from Lijing is the Lugu Lake...one of the last matriarchats in the world. |
