I would like to know why English classes as so expensive? My new bride wrote and told me English class in Shanghai was $500 USD for only four months. I don know how many days a week they would go. It does not even cost $500 USD to take a class in a American college. Please let me know because I am confused.

It's highly probable, for

1, Things in Shanghai are much more expensive than that in other places and,

2, The English your bride told you might be something of a higher/advanced level in English, not just ABC. For Example, interpreter training, simultaneous interpretation training or GRE or many other courses people may not even ever heard of.
