I will be moving to Kunming to study in the near future, and will be arranging my own apartment. I really like antique furniture (inexpensive). Does anyone know of a good place to buy older used furniture? I would also like information on buying appliances. Does anyone know of good places to buy washing machines and refrigerators etc. and approximate prices for those things? |

Right in the centre of Kunming, near the Walmart is an antiques market.
I know there is a market selling used items.
Appliances - There are 3 big stores in Kunming - Walmart, Carrefour and "Rainbow" (not quite sure of the name, it is a huge big red building in the city center). You can do price comparisons first.
Fridge about RMB 1500 onward. Go for the Haier brand.
Washing machine about RMB 1000 onward. Their machines can be very cute and small like a big dustbin. |
