A few questions about this trip. Im thinking of doing this tour end of March. How far in advance should I buy tickets for the train trip? Can I wait till Im in Hong Kong a week before I plan on doing the trip?. I'd like to get a soft sleeper and will this be harder to get on short notice?. Any security problems on a trip this long?..Can I buy tickets in Hong Kong form a travel agent or do I have to go th Shenzen to but them?...Tks in advance..

Hi Trapper, you can buy the ticket in Hong Kong, I am not sure if it is difficult to get a ticket, however, there are many other choices as flights are frequent, exercise care in train and whole China.
You can also take the HK>Beijing service; a bit more expensive it is but a bit nicer too, since it doesn't stop for passengers on the way to Beijing: you clear customs in HK and Beijing.
