Top interest of all tourists who go Lijiang :
Snow Mountain -YunLong xueshan
Tiger Leaping Gorge
ShiGu and first bend of YangTze River (these 2 spots is along the same route to Tiger Leaping Gorge so you could do all three in a day).
If you are those mountain climbers and love to trek...get to Baishu tai overland for a couple of days into Shangri-la or ZhongDian - the tibetan territory..note :- this is only meant for the adventurous and dare-devil type of travellers.
Lijiang Old town is a lot of fun on its own though it has in the last 2 years been 'renovated' by their governmentt, to look no longer the old naxi old town but a typical Chinese tourist spot. it's still lots of fun with some good dining spots there selling western food.
If you are a food-dare-devil, try the local Naxi 'ba-ba' and the 'san-di-shui' (a kind of cuisine with over a hundred small dishes including worms and twigs...very crispy and fun...but not cheap). |
