Do you know what are the cheap and convenient ways to go to Gulin from HK ? Flight tickets look pretty expensive. Are there any train or bus solutions ? Is it comfortable ? (I mean if it is a night transportation, is it comfortable enough to sleep?)

The cheap way for you to come to Guilin that I think you can try to take the over night bus from Shenzhen to Guilin.
From Hongkong in the Kowlong area you can take the train to the board of the main land of China(Luohu),the price for the train is about 33H.K.$,after getting off the train,you can get a bus from the Centure Plaza Hotel in Shenzhen to Guilin,this bus is take about 11 hours to Guilin and the price is about 250 yuan,if you want to come to Yangshuo and you should tell the driver beacuse Yangshuo is before Guilin.
