4 days in Tibet from Chengdu, and returning to Kunming |

I'm thinking of taking a short side trip while I'm in China next month. A fellow LP'er suggested an itinerary to me that included 4 days in Tibet from Chengdu, and returning to Kunming.
Does anyone have any recommendations on what travel service I should use while I'm in Chengdu? Are Chinese travel agents like Western ones? Is there competition? Do I have to worry about cheating?
Thanks! |

Generally 4 days is not a lot for Tibet. Take into consideration that its quite expensive and that a lot of people suffer from the altitude the first couple of days. You risc having a severe headache for the first 2 days of your 4 days visit. But everyone reacts different on the altitude.
The prices from Chengdu is pretty fixed from around 1950 to 2100 rmb including flight (one way) and ticket. It doesnt really matter which travelagency you use. Plenty of travellers use the Traffic Hotel or Sims Cozy Guesthouse (www.muztagh.com). |
