We would like to catch the sleeper train from Beijing-Xian,
Is it easy to book at the Rail Station considering that we dont speak the language?
What price should we pay?
Or if I ask Hotel to organise, what sort of commision should we pay?

It's easy to buy a Bijing-Xi'an ticket either at the railway station or Train Ticket Offices. A one way hard sleeper costs from256 to 274, equals about USD30 plus. You've many choices, train run between Beijing and XI'an.
If you book via Hotel or some agency, usually the commision is about 10 to 20, equals 1 to 3 USD.
Anyway, your first choice is to get the tickets by yourself
