i'll be in shanghai in Jan.any recomendation on where to go shopping?i was hoping to find nice fur capelets or leather coats?and how would the weather be like during that time of the year?

the best places to shop are:
- wholesale market opposite from Xiang Yang park (nearest metro station is Shanxi Nan Road Stop), along Huai Hai Zhong Road
- Shanghai Old Street (south of The Bund)
- along Nanjing Road (west and east), Nanjing Road walking street (Shimen Road Stop, Henan Road Stop metro stations), Xi Zang Zhong Road (next to People's Park, People's Park metro station), Huai Hai Zhong Road (Shanxi Nan Road Stop, Huangpi Nan Road Stop metro stations)
Apart from Departmental stores where prices are usually fixed, always bargain at small stores (for example those at Xiang Yang market, Shanghai old street stalls). A good starting point is 1/3 or at least 1/2 of the asking price. One good tactic is not to appear too eager...say you are not interested and pretend to walk away for usually the shop owners will relent and offer you much lower prices.
