Me and my sister are going to be in Shanghai in Feb. We are planning on staying at the Captains hostel and were wondering if it is better to stay at the dorms to meet other travelers and find people to hang out with? We prefer to get a private room but we also want to meet new people.

You can meet new people even if you take a private room there : Places to meet people at the Captain's include the Lounge , where people sit to relax , have some coffee , etc ... , the internet desk , the restaurant behind , where, outside of the eating hours, people also sit to read .... I remember seeing people start speaking to each other at the lounge . I myself began speaking to people while at the computer , and while waiting for the elevator ...
