Can anyone please give me an idea of the cost to fly from paris or london to beijing or shanghi? I found several flights for 800 dollars from paris though is there anything less expensive and can you reccommend the cheapest entry city?

Probably you could start asking at Chinatown or the Chinese neighborhood, if any, in Paris. As a rule of thumb, the cheapest air tickets to China will be sold by Chinese-owned travel agencies. Don't know from Paris, but from London you could go to Beijing for 300 pounds (around US$530) if you buy it in the travel agencies in Chinatown (unless until Sept. 2004, when I left UK). Outside London Chinatown it was way more expensive.
