China:Has anyone applied for a Chinese tourist visa recently?
I'm planning to do so in Mongolia soon but heard that since very recently one needs an invitation?? Last year I didn't need one.
Any experiences from travellers that tried the same anywhere?

I visited China in August and got my tourist visa at the Chinese Ambassy here in Germany. It took 4 days and was no problem. I think (but I'm not completely sure) that you need an invitation if you are on a business trip (or would like to visit friends). Furthermore, I'm not sure what it is like if you enter China from other countries. |
