We two girls planned on arranging self-assist travel along the route of Kanas in north Xinjiang. The traveller returned from there said that the public security is not good,we are a little scared. We want to know about the truth.
thanks |

I travelled there last summer with my 75 year old mother and my sister, both of us in our forties.
Wonderful place and we had great time especially in Turpan. Urumuqi has a bad right up in Lonely Planet but I never noticed anywhere while we were there that seemed any worse than other Chinese cities and I've been in a few now.
The people are very different and very hospitable. You'll have a great time. We even slept out in the desert one night. Our driver slept in his car some distance away.
Quite safe. Just be careful like you would anywhere else. |
