We are planning to spend about 4 days in Guilin. How do we best spend these days?
I have read that Guilin itself isn't that interesting and most travellers carry on to Yangshuo. Is it a good idea to stay in Guilin and only make day trips to Yangshuo? We want to do a river cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, but is it possible to bring our luggage on the boat and then stay there for a night?
Is it easy to book hotels when we arrive at these places (beginning of November). Is it worth visiting Longsheng/rice terraces this time of year and if so, can that be done in one day? Hope someone can answer a few of my questions.

I think it is not necessary to mention Guilin attraction,but it is worthy for spending two days in Guilin,and then you find a boat to Yangshuo, it is possible to take your luggage on boat,you can stay in Yangshou hotel for one night.New West Street Hotel,US$32 ,Only 3 minutes away from the famous Street--the West Street, which locats in the central square of Yangshuo.
Paradise Resort ,US$46 ,The best and most luxurious hotel in Yangshuo, situates in a peaceful little area of this small and pretty town.They are for star hotel and there is a three star hotel( Regency Holiday hotel) but it also costs you U$33.In yangshuo Guilin Sightseeing Index : Fuli Village Guilin Sightseeing Index Green Lotus Peak Guilin Sightseeing Index Moon Hill are famus sights.
when you get there I think it is very easy to book hotel because the tourists are scarece at that time,most of the hotels would be empty. Longsheng/rice terraces takes about 2 hours from Guilin,you can do it one day, This ingenious construction is rally worthy to see.
