I am flying in to Beijing on my way to Hong Kong. What are the best areas for getting budget hotels. I'm hopeing to be near the most attractions. Perhaps near shopping and Tienanmen square.
Next, how to get that hotle area from the airport?
Any great city tours that you know of? How about great shopping places where I might find treasures at reasonable prices!!!
Where are the best clubing areas where the locals go?
Lastly, did I forget to ask anything???
Thanks!!! |

Without knowing your definition of 'budget', I have some hotel info here: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/18aef/fa3c0/3/
A few of them are in traditional courtyard kind neighborhood very close to the Wangfujing shopping center, as well as the Forbidden city/Tian An Men square etc. SOme of them can be within walking distance from airport shuttle, such as Hao Yuan hotel (take airport shuttle then get off at YaBao Lu then take a very short taxi trip or walk around 20 minutes).
If you go to www.ctrip.com or www.elong.com, you should see a long list of hotels for all kinds of budget.
Your hotel concierge should be able to arrange various day tours such as great wall, hutong, etc, for other major tourist sites such as the Forbidden city (they sell an English version introduction at the admission window), Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven etc, you should be able to tour all by yourself.
Have a good time. |
