In Xiamen at the moment hopefully will be going to Longyan to see the Earth Houses tomorrow, but then need to get to Hong Kong,.
Ok questions -
1.If anyone has any helpful advise on The Earth house b4 I set off (I know v.tight) 12hours time from post of the thread then that would be greatly appreciated.
2. How do I then get down to Hong Kong from Longyan??? Do I need to get back to Xiamen to take a boat, is there a bus??? Really I am in the dark so if anyone knows again greatly appreciated.
3. One more question but regarding Hongkong, any helpful advice from flying from HK to Vietnam?? An agency?? or a booking office?? Prices??

You probably need to return to Xiamen and take a long distance sleeper bus to Hong Kong. There are lots of buses and they are better as far as amount of time than taking a train since the train has to go around the mountains. You can ask at the bus stations, but I am pretty sure sleeper buses or the bigger tour type buses will not be available out of the smaller inland cities of Fu Jian Province. I don't believe the boat or ferry runs there anymore.
They earth houses are Tu Lou. I visited once ten years ago in the city of Yong Ding, but have fotten about any of the directions. I am now living in Quan Zhou for a month, just a little north of Xiamen.

I think you need warm right advice on your tour:
1. You don't need to take a bus back to Xiamen.
2. A train goes directly from Longyan to Meizhou (Guangdong province), where you can connect to Guangzhou and then Hong Kong.
3. Plenty of long distance sleeper bus options exist once you get to Chaozhou/Shantou. It is possible to travel by bus from Yongding (Fujian) to Dapu in Guangzhou province where you easily transfer to Chaozhou.
It is possible to fly to Hanoi and Saigon from Guangzhou on China Southern Airlines. The Guangzhou-Hanoi flight departs at 21:05, making it possible to arrive in Guangzhou by train and depart by plane the same day if that's your final destination. |
