Is it freezing in December on a tour to Yunnan? |
|
|
Hello Everyone, I am travelling through Yunnan Province, China in December January and Febuary and I was wondering if anyone could provide me with information about the weather there during that time of year. Is it freezing or is it generally okay? Any information that you could provide me with regarding this matter would be very much appreciated.
Thankyou very much. |

According to my known about Yunnan tour,Lijiang and Dali will be cold, but technically not freezing, though at nighttime temperatures will likely approach freezing. Daytime temperatures can be quite mild. Obviously, temperatures will drop if you head into the nearby mountains. Kunming is in between with fairly warm days in Jan & Feb and cool nights.

I was in Yunnan in December two years ago. I did hear that it was cold up in Lijiang and Dali, but I was in Xishuangbanna (Jinhong and surrounding area) and would describe it as tropical. Probably about 80 degrees for most of the time, T-shirt and shorts/skirt weather.
My advice, though, since the weather is so warm, is to be careful when hiking in the rainforest with sandals. I got bitten by something nasty and got typhus.... ): |
