take a tour to the borders of Tibet, Bhutan and India |

I like taking a tour to the borders of Bhutan inside Tibet, eg to the town of Phari or so, is this at all possible?
What would one see on a namcha barwa trek?
Ideally I would like to cross the border from China into India on either side of Bhutan, though I'm not sure if these borders are even open?
Can one cross in Arunscal pradesch or is it all too unstable there?
Can one cross into Sikkim from Tibet? |

I don't know much information about tour to Phari and Chumbi Valey. My guess is that it takes a special permit, 4wd, driver and guide to get it. If time is not a big issue just go there hitchhiking. The worst case is a fine and to be sent back to Shigatse.
The Namcham barwa trek is supposed to be a brilliant trek from Lusha to Gyala and back through the Tsangpo Gorges. It's an area rich in flowers and other vegetation. It's considered more dramatic than the Kali Gandaki in Nepal or Grand Canyon. Its also very remote and transport is very scarce. The trek is described in details in Victor Chan "Tibet handbook-a pilgrimage guide".
The borders between Tibet and Bhutan and India (all part of India) is closed for foreigners. There has been talks about opening the border in Sikkhim to Tibet but it hasn't happend yet. |
