Extend Tibet travek permit to China Visa.... Is it possible? |

We are currently in Lhasa and having huge trouble in getting any real information.
Our Tibet permit expires on the 18th of August and originally we planned to travel up to China and extend to individual Chinese visas. But everything we are hearing here is that it can't be done you can only extend the permit for another 20 days then you have to leave China.
Our plan is to leave Lhasa to go over to Kashgar... if it is possible to get individual visas would it be better in Chengdu or preferably Xining / Golmud or Urumqi??? We would like to travel around China for three months the only other option is to fly to Hong Kong and apply for a visa there and miss out on half of the trip we wanted due to cost.....
Any help would be great

You can extend your travel visa for three months or six months in Chengdu or Beijing ,Tibet permit shouldn't be extended as I know ,you should extend your visa frist and take tour to Kashgar or other places lest you confront trouble
