Bus Travel from Almaty to Urumqi ? |

Looks like I missed the Monday ALM-URU train, and I need to get to Urumqi in the next couple days.
Anyone know if there is a bus that goes all the way from Almaty to Urumqi?
Where does it leave from, and how much is it? Is it a sleeper(please!)?
Any information appreciated!

A bus leaves from Sayram staion in Almaty on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The cost is $40, but they try to charge you more if you pay in Tenge. It should be 5000 Tenge, no more.
It only took 24 hours(the train takes 40 hours, $60), and it was the 2-row kind of sleeper, so lots of room. You can stop at the sayram lake wonderful!!! |
