I will be in Beijing on the 8th August and would like to reach Hong Kong on the 15th or 16th August.
Could anyone give me some advice on a cheap yet interesting route to take to Hong Kong?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

You can vizit Xian (terrakota warriors), then Shanghai, Nanjing (former sothern capital of China), Suzhou, Guilin.
To get to Hong Kong you can come to Guzngzhou and there take a bus to HK. It will be the cheapest way.

My wife and I went to China a couple of years back. We started in Beijing, then we took a train to Xi'an and from there a plane to Hong Kong. I have posted a trip report with some pictures on my homepage gardkarlsen.com. Maybe you can find some useful information there  |
