Hi,
I've covered the main part of Xinjiang ie from Urumuqi down to Yili, Kashgar, Hetian, Turpan, down to Lanzhou, Dunhuang and Xian. We are planning to go to the North Eastern part of Xinjiang in September. I understand that a place in Karamay is beautiful (known as Ghost Town). Another area I heard that may be interesting is in KUMUL. Any other suggestion as to where or what is interesting in the Eastern part of Xinjiang. Oh ya, anybody heard of this place called "Gebi Desert" in Xinjiang?

KuMul and karamay is really good , but the most famous place of Xinjiang is Kashgar and Kuqa ,if you don't go kashgar it doesn't account to come to Xinjiang , I hope you don't miss them
