Yangze River Cuise is it great? |

Hi
I'm heading to China in about 2 weeks for one month. Fly into Beijing and out of Hong Kong. I haven't got much of a route planned at the moment but have enjoyed reading the many suggestions that are on this site.
I'm planning to have a few days in Beijing and then make my way inland to Xi'an, with possibly a couple of stops on the way (not sure where yet). But from Xi'an I’m not sure where to go. I can't decide whether it is worth heading down towards Chongqing, perhaps via Chengdu, and taking a cruise on the Yangze River. I can't seem to find much info on if this is still a worthwhile trip since the damn etc or whether I could spend my time better elsewhere.
As I'm only in China for 4 weeks i'd like to make the best of it and would really appreciate some help and ideas on my itinerary as I seem
to be just going round and round with my LP
Thanks all !!!! |

Hi!
you'll find a lot of messages if you search for "yangtze cruise" or similar at this forum.
The worth is something personal. I did it last october and I like it, but I like river cruises.
Comparing to the past, now the river level is more than 145 meters higher than before, so when you go there you must picture it 145 meters down... (sic).
You can find some phothos of my yangtze river cruise here.
And as suggestions, mine is considering the tibetan area inside China (if you will not go to Tibet) as the northwest of Sichuan -- Yunnan, South of Gansu or Qinghai provinces. Look for thats words at the forum search or ask me about NW Sichuan. |
