bus travel from Xiangcheng - Zhongdian (ergent)? |
|
|
I heard buses aren't running regularly between Xiangcheng (Sichuan) and Zhongdian (Yunnan). Anybody has any up to date information on this, such as when would there be any buses scheduled? Every other day or so?
Any comment is appreciated - thanks |

Think it's not easy for you to come by anyone who has up-to-date information about the bus schedule for this route. I had been in Xiangcheng last October and found out that there was a bus that runs once every 2 days to Zhongdian. Not properly a bus, but minivan, which you may have the chance to arrange informally with the driver. The bargaining power depends on the number of people on the trip.
I must add, there're not many sceneries that came close to what I've seen during the road journey from Kangding - Litang - Doacheng, they're almost like images of dream. The journey from Xiangcheng to Zhongdian is much less interesting, bland almost, make sure you have some aspirin in hand for 10-hour slow bumpy ride. |

Hi!
You also have a daily bus from Daocheng to Zhongdian (I believe that it comes from Litang). I take it last October.
As aynor said, a Kangding-Litang-Daocheng(with Yading)-Zhongdian is a great trip.
I rode this leg on 4 June and there was a bus every day from Xiangcheng to Zhongdian. Left Xiangcheng 07:00, 9 hours. Spectacular views: sit on R from Xiangcheng to Zhongdian, L the other way. |
