Tourist visa to China, more than 30 days available? |
|
|
I havent found a conclusive answer regarding this. My travel time to China (going further down to SEA afterwards) is getting dangerously close to 30 days and to avoid the hassle, I'd get a tourist visa for more than 30 days. However, the China embassy (Germany) only mentions 30 days longest for tourist visas. So is it impossible to get anything longer than 30 days in advance, or would it be possible if it were only slightly more, say, like 35 days? |

Yes, it's possible to get a longer tourist visa. You can read my experience here:

Yes, it's possible to get an extension. Some PSBs, like the one for Diqing in Yunnan, do it in 5 minutes, some take 5 days. Lijiang is also fast. Kunming is slow.
Cost depends on your passport, and policy at the time. Probably around 100 yuan. I had to pay 400 once.
You apply for an extension at the correct PSB in town. In Zhongdian, it's the prefecture-level PSB.
It's not possible to get an extension until around the time your visa is about to expire. |
