I'm working in Hong Kong and really eager to visit Lijiang, but only have weekends available, does anybody know the cheapest way to get there? |

I have been Lijiang a few years ago and it was beautiful there. Last time, I fly from Hong Kong to Lijiang via Kunming. If you are not going to Kunming, you can go to Guangzhou and get direct flight to Lijiang. You can check with the agent in China to see if there is discount on the normal fare.The alternative way is to get the train and then by bus. Although you can save some time, it is very time consuming. |

I don't see how you can avoid the expensive flights if you only have a weekend in remote Yunnan province.
You need more time, maybe you should wait until the Chinese New Year holiday.
Even Yangshuo is a reach as a weekend destination from Hong Kong. Perhaps you should think about some place closer, like Zhaoqing. |
