My wife and I would be interested in the Silk route but have no idea where to start.? We are going to fly to Italian for another extend 2 days before flying home.
This is in the planning stage and would probably do in 2009.

I have other travelers to China on my mind but will discuss later.

If you want to visiting silk route You can start from Xian, to Lan Zhou, to Urumqi, to Turban, to Kocher to Kashgar, and back. It is possible to visit all of the above in around 10-12 days . if you fly whenever the route allows. If you are taking the train

Another planning is to start Silk Road by flying leave Xian to your other China trips.
