On my trip to India I'will stop in Hong Kong 18 hours. Anyone have suggestions on what I can do with 15 hours in Hong Kong? Should I try to go into town? information please. |

You can get into Kowloon pretty quick and wlking around. Nathan Rd is the main road north-south and leads down to the harbor & Star Ferry to Hong Kong island ( cheap...15 minutes ).
When you are in Hong Kong realise that locals refer to Hong Kong island as 'Hong Kong', this will make things easier when you are asking directions.
Lan Kwai Fong in Central ( Hong Kong ) has a lot of bars and restaurants which are a bit spendy. I used to work in Beirut on D.Aguilar St (Lebanese).
You can take the Peak tram up to the highest point on the island for great views.
Also fun sitting on the street at a local food stand amid all the chaos and eat some noodles.
The local food places and bars are cheaper than western, even when they are next door to each other.
The MTR ( Mass Ttransit Railway ) is easy to use and gets you around quick. You can go from Kowloon to HK using this, I'd suggest this as the quickest way to get around. |
