What travel options are there between Dali (Yunnan) and Myan |

I will be heading toward Dali in late August .There is only one hostel in the entire country, located in Yagon (Rangoon), as far as I am aware of. Also there is a train but I don't know whether it reaches as far as China or Thailand. Would anyone know the various ways a backpacker could enter Myanmar from Yunnan? |

But even were you to get to Ruili and cross-over into Burma with a valid 28 day visa required in advance, you'd still have to pay for a guide to escort you to Lashio and it's not cheap. |
