My wife and I from US are planning to visit Xian from June 25th for a few days with relatives from Zhuhai but they have said there is damage from aftershocks and the government is advising people not to go there. Does anyone know the true conditions for Xian as I have not seen anything in the news for the area?

There have been aftershocks , but damage is really not so serious, especially in the city proper. A couple weeks ago the government was advising that people in Xi'an sleep outdoors at night as a precaution, but things are returning to normal . I think by June 18 travel there will not be an issue at all, to the extent that it even is now.

In this case, no news is good news. I don't think Xi'an is really affected much by aftershocks.
