Hi, I am in Tokyo right now and I will be traveling from Hong Kong to Qingdao by train in this April 2008. Please any body could give me train information, the train timetable, how much the ticket would be and best place to buy.
Thanks
Ellison

There're no direct trains between these 2 cities.
In addition, Qingdao train station is under renovation and trains are now diverted to Sifang and Cangkou train stations which're a bit further from downtown Qingdao, with Sifang being the closer of the 2.
The most direct route would have you changing trains at Guangzhou East train station. I would suggest that you take T810, T822, T812, T802, T806, T816 or T824. Fare is 190 HKD on all trains, and T822 and T824 have premium class for 230 HKD.
Guangzhou -- Sifang train: T161/T160 (1548--1917) 27h29
Code:
min

Hard seat 266 RMB, hard sleeper upper/middle/lower bunk 449/465/480 RMB, soft sleeper upper/lower bunk 707/738 RMB. I wouldn't advise going by hard seat for such a long distance, it won't be comfortable.
