Any "can't miss" sights in Wu Hu (Anhui) ??? |
|
|
Going up for a couple days next week and was wondering if there are any "must sees", "must eats", etc? I do know Wuhu has a good rep for hotties (Zhao Wei, etc) ;^)
Will also be browsing VT's Anhui pages for more info...
Thanks!

Zhong Shan Road Shopping Street not bad for a wander.
Mirror Lake Park in the middle of town and is surrounded by a nice park - worth a visit.
Jiu Zi Square, is a patriotic square filled with statues, one 20 metre high.
Guang Ji Temple, a beautiful Buddhist Temple with some lovely shrines. The best dim sum eatery is Lu He Jie and is right next door to the monastery.
Shen Shan Park is a pretty area (the zoo a depressing display of animal cruelty)
Catholic Cathedral (Jiao Tang) worth a look for something different.
An hour out of town is Ma Ren Mountain a landscape of jagged yellow rocks jutting out at odd angles from the tree canopy. The temple at the base is nice.
Phoenix Street and Jiu Hua Shan Lu. Are the places to eat. Hotpot around 40 yuan |
