Hello!

I want to go to China for four months and would like to know how easy it is to find ATMs that accept debit cards like Maestro for example.

Are these only found in provincial capitals or can you find them in smaller towns too?

I do not really like the idea of traveller's cheques, so I am hoping to draw out money in the major cities. I know carrying around large amounts of cash in one go is a bit risky but I would prefer to do it this way.

Visa can be used but it is limited, not every place takes them, if you have your Bank card you can use it at Bank of China or CITI Bank to withdrawl,

Most of the cities in China there are ATM , you can easily get Chinese yuan or Dollars , most of the airports in major cities you will able to use your debit cards .
