Depends on where you're travelling in China.
Western China is probably comparable; eastern China is more expensive unless you're comparing with Singapore.
I don't know about SE Asia. You could probably find adequate accommodation in a 3-star for about 150 RMB a night. Except in big cities. In fact you could probably find it for less.
Warning: Chinese beds are incredibly hard.
As for eating, again it depends what you like to eat. There are the usual McD, KFC etc. - a meal will cost less than 30. Or you can probably find noodles in the street for 2.5 RMB upwards. |
