China via ferry and information |
|
|
I'm thinking about travelling from South Korea to China. I've read about there being ferries for this, but I can't find any other information. Does anyone have any guidance on this subject?
Also, visas. Would it be best to secure a visa before leaving Canada? Or should I wait until I get to Seoul to figure that out?
I want to visit Beijing, Shanghai and the Terra Cotta Warriors for sure. I would also like a chance to visit some smaller places, so I get to see some of the country life. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have to do way more reading, but I'm thinking I will have a rather limited time base. I'm hoping for a minimum of two weeks, but that may vary.
Any suggestions on a daily budget? If I can get a figure worked out, I can stretch this as long as possible... |

There is a ferry from South Korea to Qingdao though. That runs once a week.
china all the places you sed are fine and fun but you might also want to try the three gorges on the yangtze river while you still can. ITs really worth it. As for money its really how you want to live when you are in china. I would say $80 to $150 a day but it really depends on how you are and if you know peaple there. If you really want to ruff it you could probly get by with less. As of visa i not sure about canda but in the usa visa you get for china are good for 6 months. I dont think it will be hard to get there but proble better to get at home first.
It looks like there are several routes and even a special pass that includes trains in both countries . I looks like it costs about US$130 to take the ferry to China.
As for visas, I'd get it in Canada. China can be sticky about giving you a visa outside your country of residence (which is still Canada even though you will be in Korea for several months). It would suck to get there and be refused a visa. |
