Chinese dual entry Visa. |
|
|
Hi All, I just have been to the Embassy hoping to get a 6 month multiple entry visa (in London UK passport) but have been told they will only give me a 6 month dual entry visa with a max stay of 90 days.
The problem is from China I was hoping to pop up to Mongolia for a month, then later in my trip pop down into Vietnam for a couple of weeks before exiting in the west into Kyrgistan. I was hoping to do the China/mongolia and Vietnam part over 4.5 months.
My question is can I apply for a second visa when I'm in Vietnam even though my other one has not expired (but cannot be used as I would have entered the country twice already). Or does the visa mean I am only alowed to enter China twice in the given 6 months?
Thank you for any help, |

you can apply for the second visa (sounds like you need just a single entry) in Vietnam. The first visa technically becomes non-valid once you leave China the second time, even if the date of expiration is later. You shouldn't have any problems
there should be no problem with tourist visas for normal tourists. The rumor of requiring Olympic tickets to get a visa is just downright silly, as that would cut about 95% of all traffic going into China in summer 2008, most of which will have nothing to do with the Olympics or even Beijing.
I HAVE heard that foreigners who have been trying to stay in China long-term on a succession of tourist or business visas (without company sponsorship) will have trouble getting the 6-month+ versions, or will have trouble getting renewals until after the Olympics/Paralympics are over. Still not enough anecdotal or actual evidence, or official pronouncements, to know for sure right now. |

You can get a new visa in Hanoi.
The first visa technically becomes non-valid once you leave China the second time, even if the date of expiration is later.
and a new visa always voids any others that are in the passport as well. |

As I’ve been tald, There are going to be a lot of problems with China visas this year. Word is that during the Olympic period only people with Olympic tickets will be able to obtain visas.. |
