Off-season hotel discounts in Lhasa? |
|
|
I am aware that hotels will give discounts to tourists in the off-season. I have heard that discounts can range from 20-50%. Can anybody confirm this figure?
In particular, does anyone know much about discounts given by hotels in the Tibetan quarter? I'll be staying 3 months in Lhasa from Feb-Apr and wonder if anyone knows how much I should try to bargain for. I'm interested in the Kirey, Kyichu, Yak, and pretty much any other hotel somewhat near the Barkhor that can give me a good price....
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks. |

most hotels make little off-season discount (around 10%-30%),as far as i know there are very few hotel make the price down to 50% discounts, if you can bargain down to 30% will be a good deal.
however the hostles don't make much seasonalable discouts in TIBET.Cheers! |

There is no great difference between the several popular hostels in East Beijing Rd, such as Kirey or Yak.
I stayed in Yak for a couple of days last year and compared with others, the condition in Yak is better than Kirey and the price is almost the same: RMB 20 per bed per night, in a dormitory.
Actually, I think you could talk with the manager in the reception desk because there will be enough space for bargain before May in Lhasa.
Good luck, |

if you are going to spend a long time in Lhasa, try to ask for the monthly rates, we are staying at the Phuntsok Khasang Youth Hostel, Dosenge North Road. We paid only Y600/month/room/two people, a private shower room inside too. |
