Hi everybody,

While on our way to the Philippines in April, my wife and I will be flying through Hong Kong where we'll we stopping over for 48 hours or so. Perhaps a trip on the Star Ferry and lots of dim sum...Does anybody know of any "jewels" among reasonably-priced Hong Kong hotels?

I am under no illusions as to the cost of accommodation in Hong Kong compared to the rest of SE Asia. Essentially we're looking for something comfortable, attractive (though I'm not holding my breath) and, say, less than £35 a night (HKD500 approximately). As for location, anywhere within easy reach of downtown on the MRT would be ideal.

You will be lucky for HKD500.
Hotel Benito in TST is a new hotel which had introductory rates at around that price, but I think they are closer to HKD800 now. Otherwise try the IBIS in North Point. Generally at that rate I think you are better off looking for a hostel.
