I've been in Lijiang the past 4 days. It cold but sunny everyday and you can easily warm up sitting in the sun. I was going to fly to Jihong in Banna tomarrow but some friends that are there now said 'don't bother' so I'm thinking of going to Yangshuo.
Can anyone who is there at the moment advise me how the weather has been? Also, I've been recommended Lisa's Hotel, what are others experience of this place?
Also interested in others opinions of Jihong/Banna.
Many thanks |

I was in Yangshuo at this time last year and the weather was dismal. Couldn't see the karst mountains even if you were right in front of them!
On the other hand, I'm a Banna fan.
Been there twice, most recently in late October 2007. If you like to cycle then head to Jinghong, hire a decent bike, get a map and get out of town. It's the kind of area where the fun is really in just picking a direction, or a name on a map and heading there, seeing what you find on the way.
If you're reading LP, I'll firmly disagree with their opinion on which market to visit - definately go to Xining not the Meng-something one. Xining is in a cool hill top, tea plantation location too which is nice. Hmm, and there's good food around Jinghong that's for sure!
Anyway, all depends what you like. Have fun! |
