First trip to Hong Kong |
|
|
my wife and I are going to Hong Kong in March/April for 4 weeks.
We will be arriving from KL to Macau and then having a good look around Macau, HK, Kowloon, etc.
When we arrive in Macau will the visa on arrival cover Macau, HK and China?
Considering that these areas are now part of China I guess this is a silly question, but I would like to make sure of the procedure before we get there.
We will be organising flights 'on the go' so if we arrive without a return ticket will that pose any problems?
And are there any cheap hostels we can stay in and around the area and because we will be there for 4 weeks the cheaper the better. Nothing flash, just a place to sleep. |

You won't need visa for Hong Kong or Macau but you will need one for China. This is not difficult to arrange once in Hong Kong, your guesthouse/hotel or a travel agency will probably be able to do the leg work for you, it won't take more than a day.
Budget accommodation is to be found in Kowloon. The cheapest rooms are in Chungking Mansions and Mirador Mansions though these places are frighfully busy, noisy and the rooms are very small. |
