airport and ferry in hong kong |
|
|
i am landing in hong kong at 7pm on the 20th and need to get to Zhongshan. from what i know there is a ferry from the airport leaving the next day at noon. is this true? from what i understand it only goes there twice a day.
i also heard there is a ferry form kowloon. how far is kowloon from the airport? could i make it to the kowloon ferry in time to get a ferry to Zhongshan that same night or should i just stay near the airport and take that ferry the next day?
i just wish i wasnt going to lose a night. if i do stay near the airport, is there any night life there worth seeing? also, where can i find the schedule to and from Zhongshan and kowloon?
thanks a lot |

There's a ferry to Macau from the airport at 22:00. From the ferry terminal it's a short trip -- not more than 15 minutes -- to the border at Zhuhai. Cross over and you'll find quite a few hotels right at the border; there's also a bus station there where you can catch a bus to Zhongshan early the next morning.
If money's no object, you can probably find a taxi at Zhuhai to take you to Zhongshan late at night.
You should be able to find a decent place to stay in Zhuhai for 200RMB or so, and that's far less than you'd pay for overnighting at a decent place in Hong Kong or Macau.
(If your flight is late and you miss the 22:00 to Macau, there's 24-hour service to Macau from Central Hong Kong, but the border with Zhuhai closes at midnight, I believe.) |
