I am going to Harbin on Jan 12 2008. Is there any way we can purchase train ticket from Harbin to Beijing in advance? appreciate any advise you can provide as we are on budget travel.

hello.

As independent travelers, it is not easy to do if you are not in China. If you are in Haerbin, though, you can buy train tickets up to 10 days before the departure date.

If you don't speak Chinese and are budget conscious,
perhaps the easiest way to do it is to go to the Haerbin train station and find the English ticket-window (there is one, just be patient in finding it if it's not immediately clear). As China train stations go, Haerbin's is pretty good.
